RII30120 Certificate III in Surface Extraction Operations

This qualification reflects the role of individuals such as production operators, working in
open cut coal or metalliferous mines or quarries, who perform tasks involving a broad range
of skilled applications in a varied work context, using some discretion and judgement in
selecting equipment, services or contingency measures.

24 – 36 weeks

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. However, participants should have:

  • Basic English literacy and numeracy skills
  • Physical ability to complete practical tasks in a simulated or real workplace environment
Delivery Mode

This course will be delivered:

  • Face-to-Face (classroom or onsite)
  • Workplace Training (if employed in the industry)
Course Structure

To successfully complete this qualification, students must complete 13 units of competency, made up of:

3 core units 
10 elective units
