RII20220 Certificate II in Surface Extraction Operations

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working as entry-level operators in open cut coal or metalliferous mines or quarries, who perform a prescribed range of tasks involving known routines and procedures, and take some responsibility for the quality of work outcomes.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. However, participants should have:

  • Basic English literacy and numeracy skills
  • Physical ability to complete practical tasks in a simulated or real workplace environment

  • Workplace Training (if employed in the industry)
Course Structure

To successfully complete this qualification, students must complete 9 units of competency, made up of:

4 core units
5 elective units
